The Beecher Bay First Nation (also known as Sc’ianew First Nation, pronounced Chea-nuh) is a progressive and vibrant community. Living on the southern edge of Vancouver Island, in British Columbia, Canada, we have been tied to the sea since the beginning of time. This connection is part of all our relationships — cultural, spiritual, and economic. We are looking for the economic, education, and employment opportunities that these marine resources could bring to our people. But these opportunities must be sustainable and respectful of the land and the sea. We have consulted experts who have indicated huge potential for aquaculture business opportunities within traditional Beecher Bay First Nation territories.
